Member Relations Committee

The Member Relations Committee (MRC) is responsible for the communications between YNPN San Diego and its membership. The MRC is responsible for ensuring that new members, current members, committee applicants, and individuals who contact YNPN San Diego receive appropriate and timely responses as requested. Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Receive and process new member applications including sending welcome emails to new members confirming their membership and adding new members to social media vehicles as requested;
  • Process requests from individuals interested in joining YNPN San Diego’s social media vehicles including the YNPN San Diego listserv, Facebook Group, LinkedIn Group, and E-newsletter;
  • Track all member email communications to avoid duplication;
  • Ensure that committee applications are processed appropriately and communicate with committee chairs about new members and committee member needs;
  • Create, distribute and analyze results of YNPN San Diego’s annual membership survey.
We focus primarily on three areas: 1) membership development, 2) volunteer development, and 3) online communications.

The Membership Relations Committee will focus on marketing YNPN San Diego by engaging the media through press releases, articles and letters to the editor. Technology is a critical part of the YNPN San Diego’s member communications and outreach work and includes: managing content and administrative functions for the YNPN San Diego website, listserv, blog, online networks (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter), and member database.

Committee members should have excellent computer, communications and organizational skills; knowledge of and experience with social media; and a strong knowledge of and commitment to furthering YNPN San Diego’s mission and reputation in the community. This is sure to be a fun, exciting and very hands-on committee, and one that you will not want to miss out on. Individuals interested in member relations, fundraising, marketing, and technology are encouraged to participate. Knowledge and experience in one of these areas is a plus!

The Member Relations Committee is currently looking for additional members.
