Join YNPN San Diego on Thursday, May 19th from 6 - 7:30 pm for The Art of Inclusive Conversation, a special event with the National Conflict Resolution Center.
This will be an interactive workshop that combines small group discussion, facilitated dialogue, and self-reflective activities where participants explore their own personal and cultural identities and learn how they relate to communication styles.
Participants will learn a model for understanding intercultural (and other identities) awareness and learn skills that help their own development in all kinds of diverse settings. There will be fun, yet provoking exercises to help participants learn about how the unwritten rules we live by are not always universal. Diversity in the fullest sense of the word, including not only race and ethnicity, but also gender, sexual orientation, age, lifestyle, and abilities are explored and valued.
Additionally, a look at how respectful communication can address difficult comments from others that might be considered racist, sexist, ageist, homophobic, or in other ways derogatory to others. All of this is done in a safe and respectful learning environment.
This is a free virtual event open to YNPN members and non-members.
We hope to see you there!
