Taproot Foundation
Like the core root of a plant that inspires our name, Taproot nourishes social change organizations by connecting them with the expertise and insights of skilled volunteers, enabling both to thrive.
One day, we envision all organizations with promising solutions will be equipped to successfully take on urgent social challenges. We will lead the way in ensuring that that mission-driven organizations have access to high-impact pro bono where and when they need it.
Through our Theory of Change, we will help social change organizations solve critical societal problems by ensuring that pro bono service is a readily available, effective, trusted, and commonly used resource for social change organizations to achieve their mission.
San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program
A private, non-profit organization, SDVLP is the county’s oldest and most comprehensive pro bono legal services program. SDVLP serves the most vulnerable members of our community: the homeless, abused children, domestic violence victims, elder abuse victims, veterans, immigrants and those with HIV/AIDS. Notably, more than 75% of SDVLP’s clients are women and children.
Trust Law
Trust Law is the corporate foundation of Thomson Reuters, the global news and information services company. We work to advance media freedom, raise awareness of human rights issues, and foster more inclusive economies. Through news, media development, free legal assistance and convening initiatives, we combine our unique services to drive systemic change. Our mission is to inspire collective leadership, empowering people to shape free, fair and informed societies.
VolunteerMatch
VolunteerMatch is the most effective way to recruit highly qualified volunteers for your nonprofit. We match you with people who are passionate about and committed to your cause, and who can help when and where you need them.
And because volunteers are often donors as well, we make it easy for them to contribute their time and money.
Catchafire
Catchafire is a community of individuals seeking to support and strengthen the social good sector. We do this by matching professionals who want to donate their time and talent with nonprofits who need those skills.
Organizations join our community through a financial commitment, which may be funded by a grantmaker. With Catchafire, organizations are able to complete important work, and staff have the opportunity to develop professional skills, thereby strengthening organizational capacity and helping changemakers achieve their goals. We aim to create a more collaborative and equitable environment where all organizations have access to high-quality talent, and where skilled professionals have a deeper understanding of the social good sector.
