October Tuesday Talk

Tuesday Talk is a chance to listen, engage, and create community through learning more about nonprofit professionals and the work currently being done to support San Diegans. We hope to see you there! Tickets are FREE for members, and only $5 for non-members.

This month we will be chatting with Jesus Gonzalez, who is the Executive Director for Border Angels.

Jesus M. Gonzalez currently serves as the Executive Director of Border Angels, a San Diego based nonprofit endeavoring to educate the community about migrant and immigration rights and advocate for the men, women and children attempting migration to the United States. Services range from educational programs and legal support for children separated from their families to water drops, life-saving trips into the desert by staff and volunteers. Jesus has 30 years of experience in fund development, contract and grants administration, program development and implementation, and business operations. He is skilled in public speaking, change management, coaching and training, organizational development, cross-functional team leadership and non-profit board governance. His passion is to work with the team at Border Angels to improve operations and develop resources that will ensure that these critical services are available for as long as needed. His other passion is volunteering, most recently as President of the board of directors of CCAF/Ability Central, a statewide organization that strives to improve communications access for people with disabilities. Jesus earned his bachelor’s degree in social welfare from the Metropolitan State University of Denver.
