This month we will be chatting with Mitzi Romina Salgado, who is the founder and CEO of Cultura Media, Inc.
Mitzi Romina Salgado is the founder and CEO of Cultura Media, Inc., a bilingual media platform focused on empowering young Latinas and Latino communities with culturally relevant content on topics like education, health, and financial literacy. Through Cultura Media, Mitzi founded the TransBorder Institute, a program dedicated to supporting transborder students in the U.S.-Mexico border region, where she organizes initiatives like the Transborder Café Tours to bridge educational gaps and empower first-generation college students.
Prior to Cultura Media, Mitzi held roles with Harvard University’s Laspau, where she successfully managed Fulbright placement programs, ensuring key partnerships and managing grants. Her policy expertise was further honed as an Immigration Policy Fellow in the Mayor’s Office for Immigrant Advancement in Boston, where she briefed on legislation impacting immigrant communities.
Mitzi holds a master’s degree in International Public Policy from USC and serves on the board of Border Angels and Border Fusión. Named a Latino Leader of Influence by the San Diego Business Journal, she is driven by a commitment to advancing social justice, educational access, and resources for Latino communities.
